Our Story
From humble beginnings as a small neighbourhood mart since 2003, UFM has matured into becoming the leading rice importer and distributor in Malaysia with an extensive customer base. Located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, UFM today mainly focuses on bringing in top quality Japanese rice from Vietnam and Taiwan where its mother seed is brought in from various respectable Japanese sources.
Japanese rice has a rich history and also a delectable taste and texture which resulted in them being a general favourite. Sourced from the heart of Akita to the rich lands of Niigata, the mother seed is brought over to Vietnam and Taiwan for cultivation and also further productivity expansion. UFM sources only the best quality rice to bring into Malaysia for you to enjoy. Some of it includes the well-loved classic Koshihikari which is the most well known Japanese rice grain both locally and internationally and the new generation favourite, Akitakomachi. Till date, UFM proudly holds 60% of the market share for Japanese rice supply in Malaysia to various renown restaurants as well as household consumption.
UFM is fully equipped with a complete rice processing and packaging plant in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. On top of that, we have also invested in a complete system of warehouse storages fitted with chill storage facilities. This allows all imported rice to be kept at the optimum temperature to preserve its taste and quality. This ensures that there is no compromise in the consumer’s end experience for their chosen products.
